Yummy, I've played and watched a friend play through several in the past when it was a turn-based strategy game, and I originally turned away from this title cause it was only getting console releases last I checked, but it appears its getting a PC release too...sahweet! Course no actual gameplay has been shown yet, but its Front Mission, and I always did enjoy a good Mecha game. Am a huge Gundam fan too!

Okie yeah looks like it could be good to try.

"There are some things that can beat smartness and foresight? Awkwardness and stupidity can. The best swordsman in the world doesn't need to fear the second best swordsman in the world; no, the person for him to be afraid of is some ignorant antagonist who has never had a sword in his hand before; he doesn't do the thing he ought to do, and so the expert isn't prepared for him; he does the thing he ought not to do; and often it catches the expert out and ends him on the spot." -Mark Twain

I played this at E3 and ComicCon. Only Multiplayer Deathmatch though. It was fun, but it was pretty much just another version of Armored Core, which makes me kinda sad because I always felt the Front Mission series was slightly unique as far as US titles go. I'm always down for a Mech game though so I guess I'll give it a shot.

The other downside (which I think was even more disappointing than the change in game genre) is that the Square-Enix guys that were there told me the single player campaign is only 10 hours long. I'd expect a lot more out of SE, but they apparently had a company called "Double Helix Games" develop it, who haven't done anything good since "Sacrifice" and that was when they were known as "Shiny Entertainment". All in all this went from a "Release Day" purchase for me to something I wait till it hits the bargain bin.

ugh im never EVER EVER EVER EVER playing this because i own all front missions that are on the consoles, what ever made them decide to go this route is imo a bit stupid,

dont get my wrong i love mech games for i own AC4 and most AC(on ps2)

but i bout all the other FM because it was like playing a tactical AC which was great to me,

i think that they could have stuck to their roots and made it amazingly beautiful with next gen graphics and been more inventive with RTS type tacticals such as gro lancer or even phantom brave.-.-

but all that aside it does look beautiful and i will possibly rent it or have a friend buy it! to borrow it maybe-.-

Yeah. The dumbing down of strategic and tactical games for general population consumption always annoys me. Take "Mech Assault" for example. "Mechwarrior" for the PC is raw tactical and strategic awesome. "Mech Assault"? Cheesy balls. Homing PPCs is all I have to say.

Hopefully the new Mechwarrior will be better. Faith in "Smith and Tinker".
