Intel's New Socket 1155 for the "Sandy Bridge" Processor Class

These babies are due to come out Q1 2011. I'm psyched to see how they compare to AMD's Bulldozer class, scheduled to launch Q4 of 2010

The Underdog: AMD Announces Details on Trio of Upcoming CPU Designs

Looks like Bulldozer won't be coming out for at least another year. But I'd really like to know how Sandy Bridge and Bulldozer compare, too.

Oooh I'm interested in that "Llano CPU" which by the time it launches and be affordable, my current CPU and MB will be nearly a year old...hehe

Oops, my bad. I guess it was the Llano for 2010. Too bad they're pushing it to 2011 though, they're only hurting their chances. =/

Seems like they're only releasing entry/mid level stuff for the first half of 2011... I wonder if they can keep the 1090 going strong until then.

I have to say I'm sorely disappointed. I've secretly wanted to go green for my cpu for a while, but it seems as though it'll be Intel that gets my money again. =/

Sandy Bridge Processor Preview

Clock Speeds/ Power Consumption, Model Names/SKU differences etc.

I'd <3 me some i7 2600k

3.4 ghz base clock... Smells like a 4.5+ ghz overclock.
